MING-EARLY QING DYNASTY, 16TH-17TH CENTURY LACQUER SHALLOW BOX AND COVER
KANGXI PERIOD (1662-1722)
The cylindrical brush pot is carved in relief with two scholars seated
beside an attendant in a garden, all above the foot carved with floral Of unusual lobed shape, the top of the cover is finely decorated with a
scroll. The interior and the base are lacquered black. scene of two scholars and an attendant in a mountainous landscape,
with the roof of a pavilion partly visible amidst clouds in the distance.
