A RARE CELADON-GLAZED FACETED VASE
QIANLONG SIX-CHARACTER MARK IN UNDERGLAZE
BLUE AND OF THE PERIOD (1736-1795)
The slender vase is of facetted hexagonal form and flanked
on the neck with a pair of stylized reticulated handles,
covered with a pale bluish-green glaze, stopping short of the
brown-dressed foot rim.

PROVENANCE:
Acquired in the United States in the 1990s.
Celadon-glazed Qianlong-marked vases of this shape
are very rare. A Qianlong-marked vase of similar shape
and with similar dragon-form handles, but decorated in
underglaze blue and yellow enamel, is illustrated in The Tsui
Museum of Art, Hong Kong, 1991, no. 122.
