LARGE DRAGON-HEADED BELT HOOK AND TWO SADDLE
FITTINGS
Warring States Period
The massive ornament composed of a magnificent dragon head
cast with large snout set off by wide eyes and elegant brows under
laid-back ears and snake-form whiskers joined to a bird-headed
hook emerging from a ram's head by a central circular ring of two
birds linked by their wings to enclose a jewel, all details inlaid with
gold and silver embellishments, the underside set with an inlaid knob
for attachment; and two saddle ornaments in the form of hexagonal
pommels with silver, gold and hardstone inlays, the underside with
square flanges pierced for attachment. (3)
