A COPPER-INLAID BRONZE FOOTED VESSEL AND COVER,
DOU
Spring and Autumn Period
The spherical body flanked by a pair of loop handles and rising from
a high splayed foot, the domed cover with a disc-shaped finial, the
inlay of 'cloud' scrolls organized in concentric bands, the inner rim of
the vessel and loop handles inlaid with similar designs, the exterior
polished and mottled in dark grey and red tones, the interior with
malachite encrustations and evidence of liquid from antiquity.
