Guangxu six-character mark and of the period
Enamelled on the exterior with four gilt shou
medallions each encircled by five iron-red
bats, the medallions divided by a tasselled
Buddhist wan symbol between two pairs of
peaches above and below, all reserved on a rich
yellow-ground, the interior white with five bats
encircling a shou character in the well.

‘butterflies’ saucer dishes
Tongzhi four-character marks and of the period
Each enamelled on the interior with a regular
pattern of pink and pale blue butterflies below
a gilt rim, the exteriors each with three evenly-
spaced foliate scrolls, variously issuing a lotus
blossom and bud, a peony and an orchid. Each
7.6cm (3in) diam. (2).

Tongzhi four-character marks and of the period
Each finely potted and delicately enamelled on
the exterior with five clumps of iris flowers with
long slender blue leaves and white roots, all on
a lemon-yellow ground and between gilt bands
at the foot and rim, the interior white. Each
9cm (3½in) diam. (2).
