Compare a related white jade ‘dragon’ vase
and cover, Qing dynasty, from the Qing
Court collection, illustrated in The Complete
Collection of Treasures of the Palace Museum:
Jadeware (II), Beijing, 2008, pl.21. The deft
carving of the high-relief dragon may also
be compared to that on a pale grey-green
jade ‘dragon and phoenix’ vase and cover,
dated to the Qianlong period, illustrated by
S.H.Hansford in Chinese Carved Jades, London,
1968, pl.87.
