A jadeite vase and cover
19th century
The delicate vase carved from bright apple-green stone flecked with
darker inclusions, the flattened sides carved with faces derived from
archaistic taotie masks, the smooth neck with animal-head ring handles
joined to the vase on either side, beneath a band of simple key-fret at
the rim, the cover also with a key-fret band beneath the stepped finial.
Overall 15.2cm (6in) high (2).
