Lin Fengmian (1900-1991) painting of an opera singer with great drama and a powerful energy.

Opera Figure A similar painting of a Beijing opera singer was sold at Christie’s Hong
Kong on 29 May 2012, lot 3125.
Ink and colour on paper, signed and sealed at the bottom left,

mounted on silk, framed and glazed.

according to the family, the mother studied for a period with Lin
Fengmian in Shanghai and during this time acquired the signed paintings
as well as collected unsigned paintings by him painted during the
classes.
