A gilt and lacquered bronze figure of
Guanyin
Late Ming Dynasty
The Goddess of Mercy cast looking gently
downwards beneath a high crown containing
the Amitabha Buddha, the hair falling in
thick twists over her shoulders and the chest
adorned with strands of jewellery, the hands
held out in dharmachakramudra above the legs
crossed in the lotus position, the high lotus
pedestal separately cast.
Overall 42cm (16¼in) high (2).
