A blue and white vase, rolwagen
Chongzhen
Finely painted in a bright underglaze blue with
a continuous scene of a general on horseback
accompanied by a running flag-bearer greeting
a kneeling scholar and his three attendants with
their spears laid down before them whilst another
figure tends to a horse, all set in a richly-conceived
landscape of rocks and trees amongst clouds and
a tent roof visible in a bamboo grove, the waisted
neck with downward lappets.
