A very fine blue and white vase, rolwagen
Circa 1640
The strongly potted body painted with a continuous
scene in the taste of classical Ming Dynasty
landscape painting of two small figures crossing a
triple-arched bridge beside two square-sailed boats,
all within a spacious landscape of peaked huts and
pavilions jutting out from square cliffs issuing pine
and bamboo, with high-peaked mountains and a
large moon in the distance, all between delicately
incised decorative bands of water at the foot and
classic scroll at the curving neck and freely-painted
lappets pendent from the rim.
