A gilt-bronze figure of
Padmasambhava
18th century
Seated in dhyanasana above a double-lotus
pedestal, his right hand suspending an upright vajra
and the left supporting a kapala with a khatvanga
resting against his left shoulder, wearing a simple
sanghati and iconic shaped hat, adorning a lengthy
necklace and a pair of large circular earrings.

A bronze figure of Dharmaraja
18th century
The Lord of Death standing in pratyalidhasana on a
recumbent bull crushing a figure lying on his back,
with a head of a ferocious bull, snarling mouth and
flared nostrils, wearing a garland of severed human
heads and billowing scarf around the neck, holding
a khatvanga in his right hand, all above a wide lotus
pedestal.

十八世紀 銅錯金閻魔王像
Known as the God of Death and Hell, or as the
Judge of the Dead, Dharmaraja, King of the Law is
a protector deity of the Vajrabhairava cycle of Tantric
Buddhism. As one of the three main protectors of
Tsongkhapa, the Gelupa regard Yama Dharmaraja
as particularly important.
閻魔王是下士道護法的代表,主管人天乘的善惡,
被視為藏傳佛教格魯派三大護法之一。
