A large bronze figure of Guanyin on an elephant

A gilt-bronze stupa The Goddess of Mercy heavily cast seated with her left leg resting
Tibetan, 16th century above the pendent right leg, holding a pearl and a scroll in her hands,
Cast with a domed base rising from a lotus frieze and steps adorning beaded necklaces, earrings and an elaborate headdress,
supporting the harmika, surmounted by a turquoise-inlaid and beaded her wide face with downcast eyes in deep meditation surmounted by
pedestal and ending in a canopy with a pointed tip. hair tied in high chignon, wearing loose robes falling in undulating folds
9.8cm (4 7/8in) high over a recumbent elephant, the enormous beast facing forward and its
elongated trunk holding only a stem of lotus blossom.
