The cylindrical brushpot of gently waisted
form, the wood of rich reddish-brown tone,
with loose interior plug; the document box
of plain rectangular form, with metal fittings.
The brushpot 16.5cm (6.1/2in) high; the box

INSET HONGMU RECTANGULAR TRAY
18th/19th century
The first of plain form, the rectangular panel
framed within shallow edges; the second
inset with a variegated white and grey marble
panel, the openwork sides supported on
slender spokes spaced at intervals. The
largest 30.7cm (12.1/8in) long. (2).

A ZITAN INSCRIBED BI-SHAPED STAND
Republic period
Raised on five shallow feet, the surface with
two raised bands enclosing the carved and
gilt inscription: Qianlong fencai Tang Yin tiju,
Yu Tang xianshi, da bihai - Xue’an’s mi wan
(A large Qianlong fencai brushpot, inscribed
by Tang Ying called ‘The Relaxing Jade Hall
Brushpot,’ - Xue’an’s secret curio), fitted box.
