A SMALL LONGQUAN CELADON MALLET-SHAPED VASE
SOUTHERN SONG DYNASTY (1127-1279)
The vase is well potted with straight faring sides rising to angular sloping shoulders, surmounted by a
wide cylindrical neck below a dish-shaped mouth. It is covered with an even lustrous glaze of bluish-
green tone with wide crackles, thinning at the rims and leaving the ring foot unglazed.
