Each of baluster form and hexagonal-section, enamelled to the
shoulder with patterned lappets above a panel of ladies seated before
a screen, opposite a panel of courtly figures, all reserved on a layered
brocade ground, signed to base.

Meiji era, 19th century
Of square-section and decorated to all four sides with figural scenes
including Kannon surrounded by rakan and another of a figure flying
on the back of a ho-o, signed but indistinct.

THRee SATSuMA VASeS
By Meizan, Kinkozan and Seikozan, Meiji era
The first of baluster form with trumpet neck and domed foot 35
decorated with a peacock among fruiting and flowering branches,
inscribed Kyoto Kinkozan zo, 30.5cm high; the second of globular
form enamelled with brocade lappet band at neck above chidori flying
over stems of flowering chrysanthemums, signed Meizan to base,
14.5cm high; together with a bottle vase decorated with butterflies
and chidori among flowers spaced by brocade lappet bands on a
stippled ground, signed Seikozan to base.

A squat circular teapot and cover with swing handle above shoulder
enamelled with dense brocade patterns, raised on tripod feet,
signed Satsuma yaki to base, 16.5cm long; a circular box and cover
decorated with dragon roundel within geometric band, on floral
ground, the interior enamelled with fans among autumn leaves, 9cm
diameter, and a bowl with central scene of figures outside a house,
surrounded by brocade panels, signed Ryo to base.
