A CARVED LONGQUAN CELADON
VASE, MEIPING
MING DYNASTY (1368-1644)
The well-potted high-shouldered body tapers
to a slightly spreading foot, and is carved with
a wide band of peony scroll set between two
bands of leafy scroll, all under a glaze of soft
olive-green tone.
15 in. (38.1 cm.) high, hongmu stand

A similar though slightly taller Longquan
celadon meiping vase with a cover, also carved
with a leafy peony scroll, and potted with
