A turquoise-inlaid and gilt soapstone seated
figure of Guanyin
17th century, signed He Xuanzi
The delicate figure seated with one foot wearing a sandal
outstretched, the right hand resting on a twisting trunk and gently
cradling a floral stem, the left hand supporting the body hidden
beneath a thickly folded robe with traces of gilt and turquoise inlay on
the embellished hems, the gentle face downcast.
