           A RARE SILVERED BRONZE ‘TLV’ MIRROR
           Late Western Han/Xin Dynasty
           The raised central knob enclosed within a square of twelve raised
           bosses separated by characters representing the twelve branches
           below the TLV motifs, guardians of the four directions and eight
           bosses under a banded inscription and saw tooth pattern below a
           raised cloud scroll border, the surface with malachite encrustation.
           7 3/8in (18.8cm) diam

           The inscription on this lot is nearly identical to that of the Graham
           mirror. A slightly smaller mirror of the same type from the Robert H.
           Ellsworth collection was sold at Christie’s, New York, 22 March 2012,
           lot 1418.
