ENAMEL RUYI SCEPTER
Qing dynasty
The head, mid-section and end each inset
with a pierced gilt-bronze plaque enclosing
auspicious symbols, the head with sanduo
(Three Abundances), bats and shou
(longevity) character, the mid-section with
bats, chime, catfish and lotus, and the end
with bats and shou character, all against
a wan-fret ground incorporating panels
enclosing kuilong, the underside with shou
characters, bats and symbols of the ‘Eight
Immortals’.
