A PAIR OF BRASS TEMPLE STANDARDS
Early 20th century
Each cast in the form of a triple-pointed lance-blade centered with
a ribbon-tied victory banner, issusing from the mouth of a dragon,
attached to a vase-shaped socket incised Zhong Yingchuan Tang
jing song (respectfully presented by the Yingchuan Zhong family
clan), attached to lacquered wood handles.

The victory banner is one of the Eight Buddhist Auspicious Objects,
and this pair of standards would likely have formed part of a larger set.
Yingchuan Tang is the clan name of the surname Zhong, which is
believed to have its origins in the Yingchuan region.
