           A SET OF FOUR EMBROIDERED PANELS
           Late Qing/Republic period
           Four silk panels, framed and glazed, each embroidered with a design
           of roof tiles and architectural elements from the Han, Zhou and Xia
           dynasties, accompanied by descriptive inscriptions, the calligraphy
           also embroidered.

           A similar set of embroidered panels now in the collection of the
           Peabody Essex Museum were formerly in the Amy S. Claugue
           collection of Chinese textiles and are illustrated in Weaving China’s
           Past Phoenix, 2000 p 147-150.
