elongated pear-shaped body, domed cover,
long slender spout and handle, decorated
with shaped panels of opposing dragons
around a shou character against a yellow
ground with peony and floral scrolls.

Each of Middle Eastern form, with an
elongated pear-shaped body, long slender
spout emerging from a beast head opposite
a looped handle, the bodies decorated with
raised bud-form panels enclosing five mats
encircling a shou character, all against a
ground of prunus and bamboo stems on an
ice crackle lapis blue ground, beneath lappet
bands around a raised band on the neck.

A CLOISONNÉ ENAMEL DRAGON-
HANDLED EWER
19th century
Decorated with scrolling lotus flowers below
ruyi-head borders at the shoulder and
mouth rim, all against a turquoise ground
and highlighted with gilt profiles, the handle
modelled as a five-clawed dragon grasping
the side of the ewer.
