           ‘DRAGONS’ VASE, HU
           17th century
           The bulbous body flanked by two lion heads
           handles and enamelled on each side with
           two confronting four-clawed dragons in
           mutual pursuit of a flaming pearl above
           waves breaking over rocks, all between
           registers of scrolling lotus on the splayed
           foot and narrowing neck, the top band with
           clusters of grapes on scrolling vines.

           Late Qing Dynasty
           Decorated to the body with birds and
           butterflies amongst blossoming trees and
           flowering plants issuing from rockwork on a
           wan fret ground, within bands of iron red bats
           and blue cloud scrolls, the neck with scrolling
           lotus sprays above a band of plantain leaf
           lappets, fitted base. 72cm (28 3/8in) high
           including the base
