A BLUE AND WHITE ‘DRAGON AND LOTUS’ DISH
JIAJING SIX-CHARACTER MARK WITHIN A DOUBLE CIRCLE
AND OF THE PERIOD (1522-1566)

明嘉靖 青花雲龍紋盤 雙圈六字楷書款

The dish is decorated to the exterior with two stylised sinuous
dragons with long scrolling tails amidst clouds. The interior is
painted with a central roundel enclosing a continuous lotus scroll
motif.
