GLAZED VASE AND A MINIATURE FAUX-BRONZE BOTTLE VASE
THE CENSER, 17TH CENTURY, THE TWO VASES, QIANLONG PERIOD Compare the censer to an almost identical one dating to the 17th century,
(1736-1795) also with pine decoration, from the Eumorfopoulos Collection, illustrated

The censer is carved to the exterior with large grooves imitating a gnarled
tree trunk and is applied with pine leaves to the body. It is covered in a deep
aubergine glaze. The vase is covered in a dark bluish-aubergine glaze stopping
at the foot. The miniature pear-shaped vase is covered in a speckled russet and
dark grey glaze.
