A SMALL WHITE JADE ‘DRAGON’ SEAL
19TH CENTURY
清十九世紀 白玉龍鈕雙聯印
The rectangular seal is intricately carved with a
curved handle surmounted by a dragon and its
young. The seal face is divided into two square
sections, with one reading Jiaqing chen han and
the other ji xia yi qing, both in zhuanshu script.
The stone is of a pale tone.

883 The seal mark Jiaqing chen han may be translated
as ‘from the hand of the Jiaqing Emperor’. The
(seal face) other seal mark ji xia yi qing may be translated as
‘when does one have time for leisurely pursuits?’

A WHITE JADE RETICULATED PENDANT
白玉鏤雕活環佩
The pendant is carved and pierced in the form of two archaistic confronting
dragons surrounding a central section of two revolving discs. The stone is of a
pale even tone.
