A CELADON AND RUSSET JADE
CARVING OF A MYTHICAL BEAST
19TH CENTURY
清十九世紀 青玉帶皮雕麒麟擺件
The horned beast is carved in a recumbent
position with its legs tucked beneath its body and
its head facing upwards. The mane, tail, eyebrows
and beard are all fnely incised. The stone is of a
mottled celadon tone with some creamy russet
inclusions.

AN ARCHAISTIC PALE CELADON JADE ‘CHILONG’ CUP, YI
QIANLONG PERIOD (1736-1795)
清乾隆 青白玉螭龍紋匜式杯
The archaistic yi-shaped cup is carved to the exterior in low relief with a chilong below a keyfret border
to the mouth rim. Another chilong forms the handle. The stone is of a pale tone with some minor russet
inclusions.
