A YUAN-STYLE BLUE AND WHITE
‘FISH’ JAR, GUAN
18TH CENTURY

清十八世紀 仿元青花魚藻紋罐

The jar is powerfully potted with a broad body
rising to a short tapering neck with a thickened
mouth rim. It is decorated around the exterior
with a continuous scene of four fsh swimming
amongst reeds and aquatic plants between a
band of lappets to the foot and lotus scroll to
the shoulder, below a classic wave band.

                                                        清道光 青花雲龍趕珠紋盤 六字篆書款

                                                        The dish is decorated to the interior with a fve-clawed
                                                        dragon chasing the faming pearl amongst fre scrolls,
                                                        the exterior similarly decorated with two further
                                                        dragons.
