A LARGE CIZHOU-TYPE OVOID RIBBED
BOTTLE
JIN-YUAN DYNASTY, 13TH-14TH CENTURY
The elongated ovoid body retains the
ribbed potting marks around the sides and
is covered with a dark olive-brown glaze
that falls to the edge of the thick foot and
continues over the canted mouth rim into
the interior.

VIETNAM, 13TH-15TH CENTURY
The oviform body is carved with a wide
band of scrolling, leafy stems interrupted
on one side of the shoulder with a short,
molded spout and on the opposite side with
a small strap handle, and is covered inside
and out with a crackle-suffused, clear glaze
of greyish-green color.

A YAOZHOU CELADON MOLDED ‘PEONY’
BOWL
NORTHERN SONG-JIN DYNASTY, 13TH-12TH
CENTURY
The bowl has deep, slightly rounded conical
sides and is crisply molded on the interior
with two leafy, scrolling stems, each bearing
a large multi-petaled peony blossom below
a plain band, all under a glaze of olive-green
color that falls to the edge of the knife-cut
foot ring.
