A DINGYAO CARVED BOWL
NORTHERN SONG DYNASTY (AD 960-1127)
The bowl has shallow, rounded sides that fare widely to a slightly everted rim notched to
form six petals, and is carved on the interior with a graceful, leafy stem bearing three fowers,
all under a clear glaze of slight olive tone that falls in tears on the exterior and continues over
the neatly cut, shallow foot to cover the base.
