A TALL DEHUA VASE AN UNUSUAL BLUE AND WHITE-ENAMELED VASE

The slender vase with lipped rim is carved below the broad shoulder The vase, which has a high-shouldered body and tall waisted neck
with a band of key-fret pattern between two bow-string lines, that fares at the rim, is decorated allover with white-enameled
interrupted by a pair of animal mask-handles suspending loose rings, prunus blossoms and bamboo outlined in black reserved on a ground
and is covered overall with an even glaze of ivory tone. of blue-enamel ‘cracked-ice’ pattern. A double underglaze-blue circle
14º in. (36.2 cm.) high, Japanese wood box with an inscription dated is on the base.
