A WHITE JADE SHAPED RECTANGULAR
PENDANT/PLAQUE

18TH-19TH CENTURY

One side is carved in low relief with a
ribbon-tied chime and ‘twin fsh’, and on
the reverse with two characters, yu qing
(‘blessings from ancestor’) , all below ruyi
clouds and a suspension hole at the top. The
semi-translucent stone is of even white color.

A WHITE JADE PLAQUE

18TH-19TH CENTURY

One side of the thick, rectangular plaque is
carved in relief with a scholar seated in a boat
reading, with a pagoda in the distance. The
other side is carved with a poetic inscription
describing the scene on the reverse.
