The attractive variegated brown and gray
stone of each panel is suggestive of a watery
landscape, and is set within a softwood and
hongmu frame with beaded edges.

A PAIR OF BLUE AND WHITE PORCELAIN-
INSET ZITAN INCENSE STANDS
LATE QING DYNASTY

Each is inset with a blue and white porcelain
plaque painted with a pair of dragons chasing
a faming pearl within the square zitan frame.
The top is supported on a tall waist above a
canted shoulder carved with a lappet border.
The box-like frame is ftted with carved
spandrels and further raised on four cabriole
legs joined by humpback base stretchers and
terminating in foriform feet.
