shoulder surmounted by a trumpet neck, the
body painted in bright cobalt tones with a
riverside mountainous landscape, a scholar
and attendant carrying a qin strolling amid
secluded cabins and thatch-roof pavilions
surrounded by old pines and soaring birds, a
! sherman poling the waters in a boat nearby,
the motif repeated at the neck, a band of
clouds beneath the rim, coll. no. 1012.
