Canton Christian College was founded by American protestant
missionaries in Lingnan University, Guangdong province in 1888. Many
medical doctors were trained at the college before practicing medicine
in the wider country. The college was relocated a number of times
owing to war and the changing political attitudes towards Christianity.
In 1953 Lingnan University was incorporated into Chung Shan
university, now Sun Yat Sen university, and moved to Hong Kong.
