              Painted in red and black upon a sake Bottle of porcelain,
         made in Mino, and decorated in Tokio.         Go-zan.   Gozan, the
         name of the painter      the lower mark    is his seal  or  that  of

         the workshop.











                                        No. 484.
              Painted   in  blue  upon   the  interior  of  a  sake Cup    of
          porcelain, made in Mino, and decorated in Tokio.        Ureshike
          TAKU  nio.    A Japanese phrase     wdiich cannot be translated
          into  English.

               Painted  in red and brown upon a sake Cup of porcelain,
          made in Mino, and decorated      in Tokio.    Vieiv of the Sitmida
          Rivej',  Tokio, the scene depicted upon    the Cup.     The   seals
          on  this and   the  succeeding examples     are the marks of the
          painter.
