Carved upon a wooden Netsuke. Roku-jiu-ni o Haku-
SHA. The second character of the maker’s name is
illegible, but the first part of the inscription, Rokujiu-ni 0,
means that he was an old man, 62 years of age.
No. 730.
Painted in gold upon a wooden Case, holding an
ancient tea-jar of Bizen stoneware. On-cha-ire Uye-yagi.
Onchaire, Tea-case. Uyeyagi, the name of the maker or of
the owner. The prefix on is used to indicate that the
case holds an object dedicated to some honorable or sacred
purpose.
