Sui/Tang dynasty
Consisting of two painted pottery figures of court ladies, each with hair
in a chignon with hig-waisted dress and shawl, the details heightened
with red pigment, the third a mounted female horse and rider, traces of
straw glaze and pigment.

The stoutly potted vessel fashioned with lug handles straps and a
short spout above three applied lively figures accented by splashes of
amber glazed over an olive ground.

under a ‘combed wave’ band and central open blossom, the design
picked our in amber, green and ivory glaze, the base showing the hard,
buff body.

The deep-set dish stamped in the central well with a central flower
head surrounded by a ring of six discrete petals, the details picked
out in green and cream on an aber glazed groundunder further broad
leaves at the steeply sloped sides, the base unglazed showing the 1043
