A CELADON JADE MOUNTAIN
18th/19th century
Conforming to the shape of the large pebble, one side carved and
undercut to create the scene of a sage and his attendant crossing a
bridge over a mountain stream issuing from a spring in the craggy rock
face, the path the figures are on continuing past two wutong trees and
up towards a cave in the distance, the reverse carved with overlapping
planes and trees, the stone of pale celadon color with russet and
brown inclusions, wood stand.
