The gourd is fnely heat-engraved around the bulbous body with four fve-
clawed dragons and a faming pearl amidst billowing clouds. The ivory rim is
carved with the attributes of the eight Immortals and the cover is carved with
the eight Buddhist Emblems, bajixiang, all below a hen with chicks within a
tortoiseshell cage.
