his bowl, probably used for rice, has a slightly flared lip
Tand is undecorated. There are nine scars left by clay pads
on the inside of the bowl and ten on the footrim. Except for
the areas where the clay pads were placed, the bowl is com-
pletely coated in a clear glaze.
The large number of scars, left by clay pads when they were
pulled off the vessel after firing, indicate this bowl was made
in the southern part of Korea. The collector recalls that his
family would place pomegranates in this bowl and used it as
a decorative piece, as well as a bowl for rice.
