Yixing four-character mark
The globular body with ear-shaped handle
and globular spout, the base with two seven-
character inscriptions to the base; together
with five further smaller teapots, including:
a zisha globular teapot, with impressed
mark to base and to the interior of the lid; a
smaller red-clay tea pot with lipped rim and
impressed seal to base; and a small red clay
hexagonal teapot with impressed seals to the
base and to the interior of the lid. 23cm (9in)
wide (12).

The over-sized teapot incised to the base:

前墅古龙窑烧制
古陽羨原土朱泥

Which could be translated as:

‘Made in the ancient Qianshu dragon kiln’
‘Red Clay (Zhuni) from the earth of Ancient
Yangxian’.

Of dark red clay, with ear-shaped handle
and short spout, the base, interior of the lid
and base of the handle with further small
impressed seals; together with six further
Yixing tea pots, all with impressed marks to
base, three with further impressed seals to the
base of the handles and interior of the lids.
The first: 17cm (6 5/8in) wide (14).

spout and a loop handle, the lid similarly
decorated, the base with a three-character
seal mark, 顾景舟 Gu Jingzhou. 19.5cm (7
