2 7/8in (7.3cm) high to ours, ibid., p. 444, fig. 2, which was illustrated in the famous William
Bragge Collection Album. The first bound publication dated to 1874,
$1,500 - 2,500 but with some uncertainty as to when the hand-painted illustrations
were added, though certainly no later than a second edition of 1880

(including property from the Elsa Glickman Collection), 12 September Tobacco together with a Catalogue of Objects Connected with the
2016, lot 9040 Use of Tobacco in all its Forms of 1874. William Bragge was one of the
earliest serious collectors of snuff bottles in Europe.
