A CLOISONNÉ ENAMEL SNUFF BOTTLE This is a fascinating but curious little oddity in cloisonne production.
1850-1900 Clearly its production must date to the later part of the Qing dynasty
Of small shield-shape, enameled in bright colors on a white ground to but it does not appear to follow any of the traditional models for
each main face with two ladies seated at a low table playing go, the cloisonne bottle production. No other appears to be published and it
narrow-flattened sides with gilt-wire key-pattern on an apple-green should really be considered a miniature given its relatively small size.
ground, a tall slightly everted neck; stopper. This, coupled with the subject matter that appears to show two ladies
1 3/4in (4.4cm) high at a table playing go, may indicate that this bottle was intended for a
                                                             ladies use.
