A SMALL RUBY-RED GLASS SNUFF BOTTLE This bottle is a fine example of the small faceted type produced from
1730-1800, Imperial glassworks, Beijing the later part of the Kangxi reign (1662-1722) onwards at the Beijing
Of faceted octagonal profile with a raised oval panel on each main face Imperial Glassworks. Their production was promoted by Kilian Stumpf,
with quartered facetting, all below a simple cylindrical neck with a wide director of the glassworks, and indeed display features found in
mouth; stopper. contemporary Bavarian glass production. Bottles in this group, like
1 1/2in (3.8 cm) high ours, are often carved with the four facets meeting at a point on raised
oval panels. It was one of the most popular Imperial forms distributed
$5,000 - 7,000 as gifts at court. The octagonal shape, possibly derived from European
watches, was produced in a range of colors, most often without reign
