TWO SILVER ALLOY JADE-MOUNTED EWERS
late 19th/early 20th century
Likely Mongolian, both of similar shape comprised of bodies of
tapered square form adorned in semiprecious cabochons and
supporting curved spouts opposing hinged handles; the first overlaid
in circular animal head nephrite buttons; the second covered in
irregularly ovoid plaques reticulated as recumbent lion dogs and
dragons.

A WOOD WALL PANEL MOUNTED WITH A SILVER, JADE AND
HARDSTONE DOUBLE-GOURD PLAQUE
Constructed with the cross-section of a natural brown gourd covered
by a pieced silver mount reticulated and chased as leafy gourd vines
suspended from an elaborate bat-shaped loop attached to the wood
backing with silver wire inlay along the edges, the silver mounts also
applied with two reticulated jade fu-character plaques, two jade
toggles carved as gourd vines and tiny double gourds in turquoise
and coral (separating age cracks to wood mount).

to form three-dimensional stalks and branches of seasonal flowers
within wooden frames (frames unstable).

A PAIR OF METAL ALLOY TEMPLE STANDARDS
Late Qing/Republic period
Both cast as large irregularly shaped fans supported by cylindrical
beast head shafts and surmounted by beast head finials peering off
of the curving top edge, the flat surfaces incised in elaborate figural
6355 tableaux depicting a number of Daoist and Buddhist deities on a
pounced ground including Nezha, Weituo, the Four Heavenly Kings
and others, both inscribed Shuiyue Gong; the first further inscribed
Sheng Tian Ping Jie and An Cheng Dian Zao; the second bearing a
Guangxu shiyi nian date [1885], possibly indicating either the date of
the manufacture of the standards or the date of the founding of the
Shuiyue Gong temple.
