Qin/Western Han Dynasty
The compressed oval body plain with two
moulded C-shaped panels on each side,
the wide waist flanked by a pair of taotie
ringed handles, narrowing to a slim neck
before ending in a six-lobed garlic mouth,
surmounted by a matching six-lobed cover
with a circular knop, fitted box. 33.5cm (13
1/4in) high (3).

A SILVERED BRONZE MIRROR
Han Dynasty
The central knob rising from an ornate
quatrefoil within a circle in relief enclosing
nine small bosses, the external area with
other seven bosses interlocked by abstract
animal and birds cast in thread relief, the
outer band with a zigzag decoration on the
rim.
