decorated with taotie masks on leiwen
ground, the upper section with blades, wood
stand; the second vase with flanges around
the central section and spreading foot, the
base cast with Lügu zhai mark (‘Studio of
archaic companion’); and a small square
section vase. The tallest: 27cm (10 5/8in)
high (3).

Each with lotus leaf pan supported by
a baluster column issuing from a lotus
flowerhead standing on a flat circular rim, all
supported on a tapered column and circular
base standing on tripod legs in the shape of
mythical beast heads.

STANDS
Of mirrored design and each featuring a
Buddhist lion below a key-fret pagoda top
bearing gourd shaped ring handles and
surmounted on a stepped and pierced mid-
section fitted with further ring handles all
raised on four elephant mask supports. Each
