A JADE DISC, BI
Warring States Period
Well carved in relief on both sides with evenly
spaced spiral ‘grain’ pattern, encircled by two
narrow raised bands at the inner and outer
edges, the stone of pale yellow tone with
russet inclusions.

TWO JADE DISCS, BI; AND A JADE RING,

Comprising a circular disc, Warring States
period, intricately carved on both sides in
relief with neatly arranged spiral ‘grain’ bosses
between a raised band at the inner and outer
edges, the stone of brown tone suffused with
buff colour; a pale green bi disc, Han dynasty,
carved on both sides with comma spirals, the
larger bi 7.3cm (3in) diam.; and a plain jade
ring, Western Zhou dynasty, of dark green
tone suffused with brown markings, 6.6cm
(2 1/2in) diam. (3).

玉質黃色，局部受沁呈赫褐色。正圓形，雙
面雕細密榖紋，內外緣刻輪廓線。此璧玉質
溫潤且榖紋工整，為戰國時期玉璧標準器中
的精品。
參考兩件戰國晚期榖紋玉璧，尺寸稍大，但
其造型、內圈比例和榖紋紋飾均可與此璧作
比較，見《戰國玉器》，台北震旦藝術博物
館，2007年，頁71，圖版20；另一件相仿之
例曾出土於安徽省長豐縣楊公戰國墓，見《中
國出土玉器全集6》，北京，2010年，頁82。
